We’re thrilled to feature Christiana Tinkorang—a mother, nature lover, and resilient woman whose journey is both inspiring and deeply moving. From the quiet coastal town of Newport, Oregon to the mountains of Utah, Christiana’s path has been shaped by love, loss, and a powerful determination to grow. After facing unimaginable heartache and years as a stay-at-home mom, she found renewed purpose through Tech-Moms, where a spark was reignited and a new chapter began. Her story is one of strength, hope, and the incredible impact of community and opportunity.

I was born and raised in the small coastal town of Newport, Oregon. Growing up near the ocean, I developed a deep love for nature and still consider myself a bit of a free spirit at heart. I find peace in gardening, spending time outdoors, and especially being in the mountains with my family—hammocks, picnics, and all.
In 2010, while attending BYU–Idaho, I met my husband, who is originally from Ghana. We married in 2011, and soon after, his military service brought us to Utah—a place I’ve truly grown to love. Utah’s beauty, especially the mountains, has become an important part of our family life.

Together, we’ve been blessed with four beautiful children—two boys and two girls. In 2016, we experienced an unimaginable loss when our second son passed away in a tragic accident. That time was incredibly difficult for our family, and though grief is something we carry with us, our faith gives us hope and the assurance that we’ll see him again. Through it all, I’ve tried to remain strong for my family and cherish every moment with the loved ones around me.
For many years, I was a stay-at-home mom, and while I had earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Management, I struggled to find a path forward in my career. That changed in 2023, when a family friend mentioned a program called Tech-Moms. At the time, I was feeling a strong desire to do something meaningful—to grow, contribute, and help support my family. I decided to apply, and to my excitement, I was accepted into the Winter 2024 cohort.

From the very beginning, Tech-Moms was a life-changing experience. I felt welcomed, supported, and inspired by a community of strong, driven women. The instructors were incredible—they taught us how to build websites with code, which felt like a major accomplishment—and I made lifelong friends along the way.
Eager to keep learning, I enrolled in Tech-Moms’ Data Analytics program soon after. That decision changed everything. I was introduced to a field I fell in love with. Not only did I gain technical skills, but I also gained confidence in myself. The instructors empowered me to believe that I can do hard things. I learned the value of persistence, growth, and especially the importance of networking.
After graduating, I began applying to jobs and reaching out to people in my network. I shared my journey with my next-door neighbor and friend, who graciously helped me secure an internship at his company. I started in March of this year, working closely with a mentor who taught me so much in such a short time. Just a few weeks ago, that same neighbor offered me a full-time position with his team.
Today, I’m proud to say that I work remotely for iSolved as a Vendor and Licensing Specialist. I get to use the data skills I worked so hard to learn, and I’m surrounded by an incredible team that is kind, supportive, and constantly encouraging. The company offers amazing benefits, flexibility as a parent and more importantly, a culture of patience, inclusion, and growth.

I know I still have much to learn, but I’m incredibly grateful for how far I’ve come. I couldn’t have done it without the support of Tech-Moms, my neighbor who believed in me, my wonderful coworkers, and most of all, my family—who have inspired me to keep going, no matter how hard the road may seem.
This journey has taught me that with faith, community, and determination, anything is possible.
